Fixed program addressable –
From the outside this looks similar to a hard wired panel, i.e. a wall mounted panel with damper status LEDs on the facia. However, the method of connecting to the dampers is different. A 2 core heat proof screened cable (Firetuf, FP200, MICC, etc) is run as a loop around the building. A DCM damper control module fitted adjacent to each damper then allows the control panel to control and monitor each damper individually. (see loop communications)
The communications is made possible by the Blue River Controls S90C controller housed within the panel. The S90C contains microprocessors which are blown with a fixed program for simple control strategies. The status LEDs are driven directly from the S90C via an I2C serial bus.
An RS485 serial interface is available to transmit damper status information to a building management system using Modbus protocol. |
